But instead of level grinding, you're farming. In that sense it's almost like an MMORPG. You have to be willing to perform actions that may seem "tedious" at first, to get to the good stuff. I don't think the games are for everyone for that reason though. Cashing all that and seeing the $$$$ roll in feels great. Tilling a huge field isn't really necessarily fun but it feels so rewarding when you have a huge field ready to harvest a while later. So, am I alone in feeling this way? I hear so many good things about it, and I know part of the issue is I probably don't play long enough to get to said 'good things'. I get bored and I don't know why, because this should be my jam. It happened with every single Harvest Moon or Rune Factory I've tried to play since. only to have the exact same reaction I had to the game when I was 12. After a few hours though, my kid brain kicked in, I thought 'ugh, this is boring', stopped playing and promptly forgot about it.Ĭue years later, and Rune Factory 2 comes out. Funnily enough, I was more excited about playing as a girl than any actual harvesting that was to be done in the game. I was excited about it despite being blind to it, and I started to play. My parents got it for me for my birthday. ![]()
